Leigh-on-Sea, where I live, and its larger neighbour, Southend-on-Sea, is home to a large and lively community of artists and writers, who have banded together to form SWAN (Southend Writers and Artists Network).
This year, the Southend Fringe Festival will be taking place in July, and playing host to Southend Area Local Authors Day, affectionately known as SALAD. SALAD will take place on Saturday 7 July. The whole event is free and visitors will get the chance to browse many different genres of books and chat to authors. I’ll be there with copies of the updated version of The Multiple Sclerosis Diet Book and my Eye Spy novels. Do come along if you are in the area.
Venue: The Forum, Elmer Square, Southend-ion-Sea, Essex. 10.00am to 4.00pm. There is a café and a nearby car park.
Later in the month, on Thursday 26 July, I will be at the Novel Coffee Shop, No. 98 London Road, Southend, from 7.00 – 8.00pm, together with authors Dee Gordon and Ann Duggans Robson, to chat about our books. This is a free event, but donations to Southend Mencap will be welcome.
And if you can’t make it to either of these events, there will be a chance to buy Eye Spy and Eye Spy II at a reduced price.
